One of my favorite experiences was the year we did the Sunrise breakfasts in all the counties we served. I was board chair, and my job was to tell the story of Helen Ross McNabb – the person. By the time we finished, I felt like I truly knew her.
Another was when we started operating the Willow Cottage at Lakeshore. I was board chair then also and went over the first day. The people who lived there were amazed to have their hospital bracelets cut off. They were going to be treated like residents instead of patients!
So many great memories!
