Who We Are
The McNabb Center is based in Knoxville, the state’s third largest city and is ideally situated minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Center is a regional system of care providing psychiatric/mental health, addiction and social services to children, adults and families.
We are seeking a Medical Doctor of Addiction Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Psychiatry with a Buprenorphine waiver (or we will help you attain one) to serve as a team member for our co-occurring interventions.
We are also seeking psychiatrists that want to work in an outpatient setting, treatment team and perform medication management with all populations including SPMI, bipolar, schizophrenia, and other diagnosis.
Our services include short-term Inpatient Medically Monitored Crisis Detoxification, 28 or 90 days Residential Rehabilitation, MAT and other Outpatient Substance Use services all throughout East TN.
We use a team approach with APNs, master’s level clinicians, RNs, milieu counselors and case managers. We diagnose, educate, treat and aim towards helping clients and their families in their struggle with addiction and/or mental illness.
Who You Are
You are energetic, enthusiastic and client-driven. You are comfortable working in teams with diverse backgrounds, and understand the importance of collaboration to deliver the best possible psychiatric and/or addiction services to our clients. You have experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment and co-occurring disorders. You persist in accomplishing objectives, have excellent attention to detail, and you are comfortable setting priorities. You believe that you can contribute to client success and the success of the McNabb Center. You are looking for a work family to join for the long term.

Approach to Care
An ecological approach to the treatment of problems takes into consideration the biological, medical, psychosocial and community impact on the person being treated. Our clients benefit from highly trained and experienced practitioners who work within a team approach with colleagues and our clients/patients.
All prescribers receive 4 weeks of vacation per year when working a 40 hour workweek or prorated if schedule varies. Professional training and leave is paid with prior approval.

Substance Use Treatment
The McNabb Center offers a full continuum of substance use treatment services from residential care to Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT). Call us to learn what options are best for you or your loved one.
The McNabb Center’s medical detoxification program serves adults who are experiencing the effects of high-risk withdrawal from opioids, alcohol or other addictive substances. Evaluation and withdrawal management are delivered under a defined set of physician-approved protocols by skilled nurses and our professional clinical team.

The McNabb Center offers residential treatment for adolescents and adults facing a substance use or co-occurring disorder. Through our residential programming, clients receive education, group and individual therapy focused on achieving recovery, wellness and a healthy lifestyle.
The McNabb Center is designated by the state as a Co-Occurring Disorders Enhanced facility, showing the program “has a higher level of integration of substance abuse and mental health treatment and recovery services.”
For adults and adolescents across East Tennessee in need of treatment for substance use disorder or addiction, the McNabb Center offers intensive outpatient programs. The Center offers gender-specific and youth groups, depending on the age and specific needs of each client. Each program provides 9-12 hours per week of structured therapy and education.

Medication Assisted Therapy
Medication Assisted Treatment combines counseling and behavioral therapies with approved medications (such as Vivitrol or buprenorphine) to treat addiction disorders. Using controlled levels of medications to help relieve withdrawal symptoms and psychological cravings can assist some individuals struggling with an addiction disorder to sustain recovery.
