YES, a service of the Helen Ross McNabb Center

YES, Inc., formerly Youth Emergency Shelter, was established in 1975 by a group of concerned citizens to provide care for children with nowhere else to go. Since then YES has cared for thousands of children all across East Tennessee and beyond. YES is a temporary home and place of stability for children who need immediate care, where they receive everything necessary for daily life including a bed, food, clothing, hygiene care, safety education, counseling, and love. YES, Inc. also provides mentoring and therapeutic art programs for children.

YES IMPACT, a mentoring program designed to match elementary school aged children with adults who provide stable educational, emotional, and developmental support.

YES ART, a therapeutic art program designed to help kids build resilience and move beyond life’s hurdles by promoting self-awareness, improving self-esteem and competence, and developing coping and control skills that will lead to a stronger future.
