Education and Outreach

Our Education Specialists deliver personal safety curriculum in East Tennessee public and private schools, grades K-12. The age appropriate programs meet TN State Health Education standards for classroom instruction. SKILLS (Supporting Kids in Learning Life Safety) and LIMITS (Learning Important Messages in Teen Safety) programs provide children with the tools needed to protect their emotional, social, and physical boundaries. Educators also regularly present community outreach, awareness, and training programs designed to meet the individual needs and interests of groups, businesses, and other organizations. 

Student education topics include:

  • Safety planning
  • Safe vs. unsafe touches and secrets
  • Identifying trusted adults
  • Listening to instincts
  • Bullying prevention
  • Internet and cell phone safety
  • Setting boundaries
  • Healthy vs. unhealthy relationships
  • Dating violence prevention
  • Conversation skills

Adult topics vary, but may include:

  • SACET services
  • Sexual assault statistics and prevention
  • Sexual assault response
  • Child abuse/sexual abuse signs and symptoms
  • Communication and healthy relationships for adults
  • Bullying and internet prevention for parents
  • Myths associated with drugs, alcohol, and sexual assault
